Why should you be putting pumpkin on your face?
Okay, so I’m sure you’re wondering why in the world you should make a face mask with pumpkin.not only tastes amazing but it’s chocked full of vitamins and antioxidants! A few of the most beneficial are;
alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) – AHA’s help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. They do so by increasing the rate of cell turnover by dissolving the bonds that are keeping dead skin cells on your face. Removing those dead skin cells will leave your skin brighter, smoother, and softer.
Fruit enzymes – pumpkin contains strong natural enzymes that exfoliate your skin are great for unclogging pores.
Vitamins – Pumpkin contains Vitamins A and C both of which help soften skin as well as reduce the appearance of dark spots.
What about the other ingredients in this mask?
Lemon Juice – contains both vitamin C as well as citric acid. Both work to reduce dark spots. The citric acid also removes excess oil and bacteria which is perfect for people who suffer from acne or breakouts.
Bentonite Clay – Bentonite Clay is a naturally occurring clay found in volcanic ash. It’s incredibly absorbent and when mixed with water becomes a power detoxifier. It can bind to and remove bacteria, toxins, and impurities from your skin. It is particularly beneficial for people dealing with acne or eczema.
If you don’t have Bentonite clay I highly recommend that you buy some (you can do so HERE on Amazon). Its great not only for face masks but you can also put mix it with Epsom salt to make super relaxing and detoxifying bath!
If you were to buy a mask from the store that claimed to do everything this mask does you would be paying a pretty penny! But you can get all of these benefits for just a few dollars and about 5 minutes in the kitchen. Plus you get the added benefit of using a skin care product that does not contain shelf stabilizers or preservatives!
