With schools closed across the country for the foreseeable future, we’re all finding ourselves filling the role of teacher for our kids. While many schools have done their best to move their classrooms online there’s one class that’s falling by the weigh-side, PE! So how exactly do you do PE class at home in a time of social distancing? YOUTUBE!
Getting your kids outside during the day to burn off some of their extra energy is obviously preferable. But right now it might not be possible, due to weather, lack of a safe outdoor space, or the social distancing requirements in your state. But as long as you have an internet connection and a device that connects to the internet you can turn your own living room into your new homeschooling gym!
Youtube has tons of great videos and channels that will help get your kids moving and work out some of that built up energy! I’ve put together a list of some of the best online PE classes for kids that youtube had to offer!
GoNoodle is one of my kindergartener’s absolute favorites and his school actually uses it when they have to do indoor recess! Your kids can learn some new dance moves, do a kid-friendly workout, pretend like they’re in a video game, or just be silly. And they have so many videos you can find something for every kid in the family!
Popsugar fitness has hundreds of awesome home workout videos and this one is no exception. If you’re missing the gym then this is a great way to spend some time with the kids while getting in a quick workout!
You might have seen Joe from The Body Coach TV on the news lately. He’s posting a daily work out for kids called P.E With Joe while kids are out of school. He also has a set of workouts called Kids Workouts To Do At Home.
Get the whole family involved with this fun mommy and me dance work out that is guaranteed to get everyone off the couch and smiling!
KIDZ BOP can be a bit polarizing, people either love it or really really dislike it. BUT regardless of your overall feelings towards it, they do have some great dance along videos and fitness videos to get your kids moving.
Go with YOYO is great for toddlers. They can dance and get the wiggles out all while learning letters, numbers, colors, and shapes!
