Have you cut out dairy from your diet and find yourself missing the creaminess that yogurt adds to your morning smoothies? This Blueberry & Spinach Smoothie uses almond milk yogurt to give your smoothie the yogurt taste you love without the dairy!
I’ve been on a serious smoothie kick around here lately. I blame it on the fact that summer’s in Georgia is so hot that it’s nice to start the day off with something cold. Also being 9 months pregnant I’ve lost the motivation to make large breakfasts or any large meal for that matter. So I’m all for healthy foods that are super easy to make.
This blueberry & spinach smoothie is packed full of vitamins and minerals. Including iron, vitamins C, K, A, and B2. Did I also mention that it’s absolutely delicious and it’s completely dairy-free! Using almond milk yogurt gives it that creamy texture and signature yogurt taste without dairy. Making it perfect for anyone with a dairy allergy or intolerance and anyone who has cut dairy out for other health reasons.
Another reason I’m such a huge fan of this smoothie is that its an easy way for you to sneak some extra greens into your kid’s diet without them even knowing it! Which also makes this smoothie a great afternoon or after school snack.
My kids can be on the picky side and if I hand them a bright green smoothie, chances are they aren’t going to drink it. But since this smoothie has a blue color to it they don’t even think twice. Isn’t it funny how the color of food can affect your kid’s willingness to try it?
I always use my trusty Vitamix Blender blender when I make smoothies. It’s a little on the pricey side but its totally worth the splurge. Not only can it handle the thickest of smoothies but you can use to make things like nut butter, soups, dips, and even batter for cakes and muffins! You’ll be surprised just how often you’ll find yourself using it.
When making smoothies or juice I like these Working Glass Storage Jars. Glass is toxin-free so you don’t have to worry about BPA’s or phthalates getting into your drink. Glass also doesn’t absorb smells and tastes so your drink will always taste fresh. These glass jars come with lids which makes them perfect for those days you need to take your smoothie on the go.
